Lark Guitars is proud to offer our own Fender Custom Shop run of 1964 Spec Stratocasters. Perhaps musical genius finds its way to the ’64 Strat. Perhaps the '64 Strat can find the genius in any player. With this Fender Custom Shop run, we at Lark are betting on both. It’s magic!
This run is inspired by a good friend of Lark’s original 1964 Strat he has christened “Sophia”. His instrument has some modern upgrades including larger frets radiused at 12” to preserve the original integrity of the guitars neck and modern wiring. These create ease in playability across the whole neck while improving tuning stability and adding more tonal flexibility.
Lark’s custom 64 Strats have taken Sophia’s epic sound and thoughtful improvements to a new level. These guitars feature AAA Rosewood fingerboards on roasted maple necks that resist the stress of temperature and humidity. Modern Design and manufacturing coupled with the addition of compound radius fingerboards and larger frets yields effortless playability. Be it on chords or single note leads. Yes… you can bend a perfect fourth on these with great low action. Flash coat lacquer paint process provides the thinnest finish Fender offers. The soul of these guitars could be in the hand-wound Custom Shop ’64 pick ups. Big, Juicy, Fat and balanced, super sweet and never harsh. All of this wrapped up in a modern package no sacrificing all the vibe and magic Fender had going on 55 years ago. We guarantee you hours of playing satisfaction and inspiration.
