The Nik Huber Redwood: A Semi-Hollow Lightweight Champion

To us at Lark, Nik Huber is one of the best private builders in the guitar industry today. His craftsmanship and playability are impeccable, and his attention to detail is second to none. The Nik Huber Redwood is a semi-hollow with a mahogany body and set mahogany neck, topped with exceptional flame redwood and finished in Charcoal Burst with natural redwood faux binding. The back has an open-pore finish, and at just 6lbs it’s a true lightweight champion.

Tone and Electronics

A Häussel Vin humbucker in the neck and a Häussel Classic humbucker in the bridge bring clarity and body to a new level, with a rich, complex voice that stays balanced. A master volume, a master tone with a push/pull coil tap, and a 3-way toggle give you plenty of range, and the ebony fingerboard adds that lovely bite.

Feel and Playability

The Dolphin Standard neck carve runs .88" at the 1st fret to .96" at the 12th, with a 25.5" scale, a 10" to 14" compound radius, and 22 medium jumbo extra hard frets. A polished bone nut at 1.67", abalone dot inlays, and a double action truss rod with a single compressed rod round out a neck that’s as comfortable as it is easy to adjust.

The Look

An ebony peghead veneer carries the mother-of-pearl Nik Huber signature, and the ebony backplate, pickup rings, and knobs tie in with the fingerboard. Gotoh/Nik Huber 510Z tuners with ebony buttons and the Nik Huber adjustable stoptail bridge complete the build, and it comes home in a hardshell case.
