This 2009 Gibson Custom Shop Billy Gibbons “Pearly Gates” Les Paul is number 36 of only 50 aged and signed examples produced. Based on Billy Gibbons’ legendary 1959 Les Paul Standard, this limited Custom Shop model features Tom Murphy aging and was personally signed by Billy Gibbons.
The guitar features a highly figured cherry burst maple top over a mahogany body, single-ply cream binding, a one-piece mahogany neck, Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbuckers, nickel hardware, gold top hat control knobs, and vintage Kluson-style tulip tuners. The Tom Murphy aged finish captures the worn-in look and character of the original “Pearly Gates” Les Paul.
This particular instrument was acquired directly from Steve Miller of the Steve Miller Band. It remains in near-unplayed condition and includes the original certificate of authenticity, all case candy, and the original case with Steve Miller’s ownership provenance label.
A rare and highly collectible Gibson Custom Shop artist model with direct artist provenance, limited production, and exceptional condition.
