The EVH 5150 Iconic Head puts the later Van Halen sound within easy reach: tight rhythm tones, plenty of sustain, and enough gain to cover just about any hard rock set. Its EL34 power section adds a bit of British bite, while the two channels give you room to move between crunch and a saturated lead sound.
Each channel has its own Gain and Volume controls, with a shared three-band EQ and global Presence and Resonance to dial in the feel. A noise gate keeps high-gain playing under control, and the footswitchable Boost gives solos an extra push. Reverb, an effects loop, power reduction, and a speaker-emulated output make it practical for the stage or studio.
